Modern faux hawk for Gintel

Say Hello to Laffit

Meet Nelson! So much fun working with him! He is known for his hair style and great personality! Nelson’s hair has given him a great rep since high school winning Best Hair Award!
I was super excited when he wanted to change up his hair do a bit.
The goal was “Old Man white” and we got it and love it!
It took some time reaching that level, taking inconsideration his natural hair is black. We gotta pass the crazy red-orange-yellow phase to get it to where we are now!

Say hello to Gintel Gee
Meet Gintel Gee! She is a dope graphic designer and has contributed a lot of her work for Dime Piece Designs
Gintel’s had these dreads for a while, I love them!
I decided to do some peek-a-boo highlights on her dreads. Pretty fun because it is not your everyday hair in foil highlights, all nice and neat. With dreads it changed up my highlighting routine. I got to soak the dreads in lightener and wrapped them up like the way you used to make antennas when you were a kid!

How To Get Glowing Skin

In order to get a smooth, glowing, sun kissed look you got to use a few different blushes. I normally use about 3 different colors, a highlight, contour and blush with color. I start with the contour, a soft brown that will give your cheeks some definition, next blush on the apples of your cheek normally a peachy color, and finally a highlight on the high point of your cheek bones. Its makes a huge difference. Try it and let me know how it turns out.
Contour: soft brown to give cheeks definition (bone beige MAC)
Apples of cheek: a peachy color (Melba or MArgin MAC) with or without shimmer (this depends on your skin tone)
Highlight: I like to use Vanilla Pigment from MAC
Harajuku ready!
Just a couple weeks ago, I took my number 1 hair model, Laura from Dime Piece, back to brunette for the Metro Pop Magazine Shoot. Check out that post HERE
Now, I took her lighter. Ready for Japan with Joy Rich this week!
A timed and fast pace process.

I decolorized her whole head.
Foiling the top part, where her hair is the longest, to make sure the application was even.
You need to keep an eye on the process, seeing what color is coming up.
When we reached a desired color, I toned her a couple shades darker.

Brazilian Blowout on Ashley

I’ve been styling and maintaining the manes of the girls from Dime Piece Designs and enjoying it! They are fun to work with it and I get to play with new ideas.
Ashley is always seen with stick straight hair, or in her cute little turban, but realistically she has CURLY hair. It gets pretty wild when it’s not done up. When she found out I was doing the Brazilian Blowout , she was one of the first to jump on it! Ashley cares for the health of her hair and didn’t want to do the extreme and do something permanent, like a relaxer or permanent straightening to change her hair bonds. So this service is actually a perfect treatment for her.
-At the salon, the process took a little over 90 minutes.
-When you get out, you can continue with your everyday schedule. Don’t be afraid to wash your hair, you should use the recommended Shampoo and Conditioner though because it has complementing ingredients to help the treatment last longer.
-You will definitely notice your hair slimmer than before with a lot of shine!
The Brazilian Blowout lasts for a bout 3 months, with proper at home maintenance, and actually improves the health of your hair. The results for this treatment is an intense amount of shine, less frizz and a cut down on your blow drying time.

Cut & Color – Metro Pop Magazine
The girls from Dime Piece Designs were in a shoot for Metro Pop Magazine. It was time for Laura’s touch up and frequent visit at my second home, Salon Sessions in Pasadena.
Still keeping her hair short and cute.
We’re staying away from going lighter… for now.
So i deepend her faded auburn with a deep violet.
Added a couple highlits in the front to break the solidness of the overall hair color. The highlights were very fine, not too chunky just to blend in. I love the result of it! Looks like a hint of purple and blue

Julia Robert’s Hair how to

We are going to be working on hair that is out of the shower, toweled dry damp, not soaking, dripping wet.
1. Prep hair with Bumble and Bumble Thickening Spray -Spray all over roots to ends. Cocktail with Bumble and Bumble Styling Creme- from mid shaft to ends. This will create a medium amount of texture, not too heavy but enough to have a good hold.

2. Blow dry brushing hair from crown and forward, so hair will be on your face. This will create some volume. Continue to blowdry the rest of your hair until dry and also catering the blowdry to a middle part.

3. When Completely dry, and hair is parted down the middle, Section hair from above ear to neck all around. This is your first section you will curl. With in that section divide hair in vertical pieces and curl with a 1 inch iron away from face.

4. Drop the section from crown to ear and repeat step 3. Taking 1 inch curling iron and wrapping hair away from face.

Lastly, spray with a light hair spray and run fingers through to break up curls and give a softer look
