POP ART

Today I wanted to do something fun and different.

This is clearly just for fun and not something

someone would wear out for the day.

Step 1: Line your lips with a deep red liner.

Step 2: Fill in your lips with BESO lip gloss from Stila Cosmetics.

(this is a matte gloss that doesn’t transfer)

Step 3: with an angle brush line your lips with black eyeliner, I

used the black liner from Morphe.

Step 4: Color inside your lips with the same black liner.

Step 5: with Clown Cake from Ben Nye draw on a couple lines to make it cartoon like.

And there you have it, FUN Pop Art Lips!

I have a quick tutorial on my instagram check it out here.

see you in the next post.

How to Naturally Reduce Your Pore Size at Home!

May 28, 2014

porsize1

Have you ever looked in the mirror and noticed large pores that weren’t there before?

A few days ago I was using my Clarisonic and my son comes running into the bathroom and asks…

“Mom, what are you doing to your face?’

I replied… ” Trying to get my skin to look like yours again.”

Now he runs around telling everyone that I want to look like him. haha

Our skin probably wont ever be as tight and smooth as it was when we were babies but

I can show you some natural steps to help reduce the size of your pores.

What Causes Large Pores?

Our bodies produce sebum, its an oily substance to protect the skin from drying out. People who have

naturally oily skin tend to have larger pores. When dirt and oil collect in your skin, your pores look larger than normal.

This is why is is very important to remove your makeup properly.

How To Naturally Reduce Your Pore Size?

DIY face mask.

Pour egg white from 1 egg into a bowl, whisk until the texture is foamy.

Let the bowl chill in the fridge for 5 minutes then squeeze the juice of one lemon.

Apply the mixture onto your skin, leave it one for 10-15 minutes.

Then rinse off with lukewarm water.

Lemon

Benefits:

The citric acid present in lemons helps exfoliate the skin and clean slogged pores.

Egg White:

Benefits

Egg whites have skin toning and complexion enhancing properties, it also keeps your skin free from impurities.

Raw Honey

Benefits: Reduces excess oil and tightens pores.

Honey can prevent clogged pores, apply raw honey to affected areas and massage into

skin for a few minutes. Then rinse with lukewarm water.

Relax and Enjoy this face mask!

See you in the next post.

Simple Smokey Eyes

Simple Smokey Eyes

Did you ever realize how easy it is to do a smokey eye?!

This is the best smokey eye technique when you have about 10-15min to get ready.

Plus look how much bigger it makes your eyes look!!!

20140513-113457.jpg

You want to apply a primer all over your lid so the makeup could stay.

(you can apply a darker primer on your lower lid so the shadow comes on dark,

I usually use black liner and blend it in)  Using the Tarte Cosmetics Holiday Palette.

1. Using a flat brush you want to apply #1 on your lower lid

2. Then with a blending brush, blend #2 right onto your crease blending all the

colors together.

3. Using a flat brush use #3 right below your brow bone to highlight your eyes.

4. to get the smokeyness below your lower lash like you want to use a

black eyeliner in your water line.

5. Then with a pencil brush use the color #1 right below your lower lash line,

then with a stiffer  blending brush softly blend #4 right below #1.

6. Finish off the look with Tarte Cosmetics precision liner and #33 lashes from Salon Perfect.

I hope you enjoyed this quick and easy smokey eye!

Blue Eyeliner

May 1, 2014

20140501-151653.jpg

BLUE

I’m loving the color blue right now! it just reminds me of summer and vacation!

20140501-151759.jpg

Tip:  how to make your blue eye liner stand out! You create the eyeliner first with white eyeliner.

Then apply the blue eyeliner right on top of that. The blue eye liner will look a lot brighter!

20140501-151809.jpg

Take it to the next level and add some royal blue glitter from Lime Crime. :)

20140501-151949.jpg

What I used:

1. Base of eye liner: I used a white creamy gel pencil liner from LA girls cosmetics

2. Mixing anastasia beauty genius with LA girl Spectra Blue liner i applied it right to the outer part of my

cat eye using a thin eyeliner brush.

3. Then I mixed a little beauty genius with lime crime’s blue glitter and added it to my eyeliner. :)

4. Topped the look off with Ardell edgy #402 and Demi Wispies.

5. For my Brows I used Anastasia pro palette, ebony and soft brown.

see you in the next post!

Have an amazing Day!

Electric Palette Urban Decay

April 15, 2014

photo-9

Hello loves! Today I had some time to play with the Electric Palette from Urban Decay.

The photo above is what I came up with! I LOVE how pigmented the colors are.  I hate when you purchase

an eyeshadow and it look so beautiful and bright in the palette but you put it on, it looks so dual.

92203_electric_palette

1. Apply the color “urban” to the center of your lid.

2. Next apply “savage” to your crease with a blending brush.

3. To highlight my brow bone I used the color “vanilla” pigment from MAC

4. Above your crease softly swift the color “slowburn” so there is more of a transition.

5. Apply a black liner to your waterline.

6. Apply the color “chaos” to your lower lash line using a pencil brush.

7. Next I used Tartes new liquid liner (It’s AMAZING!) to create my winged out eyeliner.

8. Finished the look off with Salon Perfects Wispies, I glued them on using Duo Adhesive.

I hope you enjoyed this look!

Have an amazing day!

LOVE,

Alana Dawn
