How To Cure Dandruff and Promote Hair Growth

April 30, 2014

If you’re interested in this beauty tip, you or someone you know has probably been trying to get rid of their dandruff or losing hair. Yes this is a simple all natural way to help cure dandruff and promote hair growth. I’m not saying your hair will grow back dramatically, but the simple ingredients here will clean  your scalp, remove dirt from hair pores and allow your scalp to breath and have room for growth.

So what do you need to cure dandruff and promote hair growth? Spray bottle, filtered water, rose water and Rosemary essential oil

In a spray bottle: fill half with rose water, half with filtered water, 15-20drops of Rosemary Essential Oil

Rosemary oil: Stimulates hair follicles, making hair grow long and stronger. It also acts as an antioxidant and antimicrobial/antifungal, making it a favorite ingredient in scalp and hair treatments. Dandruff is caused by a form of yeast, so it would make sense to treat it with an anti fungal. Rosemary calms the scalp and keeps it clean to help avoid infections in broken skin. (

Rose Water: Refreshes skin, Cleanses the oil and dirt from pores, a delicate floral rose scent

Tip: always shake before use to equally distribute all ingredients, spray after you shower or when your scalp is starting to itch. It has a light tea tree like scent and leaves your scalp feeling cool and tingly. Another tip to cure dandruff is, change your shampoo, it may be a product buildup in your hair/scalp, also in your shampoo add a couple drops of Rosemary Essential Oil.

Makeover Monday: A natural golden blonde

April 27, 2014

My client, with virgin hair, was excited to go lighter. An ombre type of style, where the color gradually changes. I was so excited to change her dirty blonde, level 7 hair color, to some golden natural looking blonde. She looks gorgeous both ways, her new golden blonde brightens her up and she can allow this hair color to grow out for a while not worrying so much on maintenance.

Her Cut: simple, 0 degree cut, 1 Inch off the ends. She has very fine hair with a slights and wants lowest maintenance

Her Color: 20volume developer with bleach, balayage and ombre techniques.

Her Style: I sprayed It’s a 10 Plus Keratin all throughout, especially on dyed hair and comb through for even distribution. This acts as a heat protectant and conditions her hair as well as putting back Keratin, protein in hair lost from color or heat/environmental damages. Rough dry with a blowdryer and curled with a 1 1/4″ iron, taking random pieces and curl away from the face

Tartes Precision Longwear Liquid Liner

April 16, 2014

I was so excited to try this eyeliner!!! I love me some winged eyeliner! but,

sometimes it takes so much work to do, I only have few minutes  to

get the job done! I normally use an angle brush and MAC black track gel liner,

which is great but time consuming. With one swipe, this eyeliner is super dark and easy to handle.

So easy to have a steady hand with this liner. Very happy to add this to my everyday collection.

What I LOVE about Tarte is all their products are so pure and formulated WITHOUT

parabens, mineral oil, phthalates, triclosan, sodium lauryl sulfate, and gluten.

Above is the eye shadow collection from Tarte Cosmetics.

This is what I used to get the  look below, super soft beach look.

1. i used the gold shimmer on my lower half of my lid.

2. then used the soft matte brown across my crease.

3. The matte white for my brow high light.

4. the dark brown shimmer below my lower lash line.

Then to finish the look I used Salon Perfects Demi Wispies for my Lashes.

and Anastasia Beverly Hills chocolate duo powder from her pro palette on my brows.

Hope you enjoyed this look. See you in the next post.

What To Wear With Your Hair: Kenra Perfect Medium Spray 13

April 16, 2014

I started playing around with Kenra Perfect Medium Spray 13. Kenra has different hairsprays, with different numbers, which represents the hold factor. 13 is the perfect medium spray. I’ve been using it a lot on wedding trials and photoshoots, because it allows me to change up the styles without combing through hard hairspray and no flakes. So it is perfect! I’ll use it before styling to give a little hold and after the style for a medium hold.

What’s to Love: It’s the perfect medium spray! no flakes, no crunchy hard to comb hairstyles, versatile

Who’s it for: Anyone wanting a moveable hold and will be changing hairstyles, hairstylists working on set, weddings, film and in salon,

How do you use it: on dry hair before curling/flat ironing or after on a finished style

Electric Palette Urban Decay

April 15, 2014

Hello loves! Today I had some time to play with the Electric Palette from Urban Decay.

The photo above is what I came up with! I LOVE how pigmented the colors are.  I hate when you purchase

an eyeshadow and it look so beautiful and bright in the palette but you put it on, it looks so dual.

1. Apply the color “urban” to the center of your lid.

2. Next apply “savage” to your crease with a blending brush.

3. To highlight my brow bone I used the color “vanilla” pigment from MAC

4. Above your crease softly swift the color “slowburn” so there is more of a transition.

5. Apply a black liner to your waterline.

6. Apply the color “chaos” to your lower lash line using a pencil brush.

7. Next I used Tartes new liquid liner (It’s AMAZING!) to create my winged out eyeliner.

8. Finished the look off with Salon Perfects Wispies, I glued them on using Duo Adhesive.

I hope you enjoyed this look!

Have an amazing day!

Super Quick HeadBand Updo

April 13, 2014

About a month ago, Alana and I did a wedding inspired photoshoot with such a talented photographer, Arina. She described the shoot to have pink cherry blossoms, blush colored bridal dress and bunnies. I mean how could you say no to that?! So we got to the location and found out that day we are doing hair and makeup at the park. No outlets or tables, but you just gotta make it work. We set up on the grass, used Alana’s Zuca bag for the model to sit on and laid out our supplies, and got to work.

For her hair, Arina wanted just up because the model will have a headband.  I had to think of an updo that required no heat. I’ve been seeing this headband updo around on the web and decided to do it. I  didn’t get to take a picture of the models massive hair before or a step by step, but I found a picture tutorial of pretty much what I did. A super easy hair style anyone with mid to long length can do on their own.

How to super quick headband updo:

1) you need a thin black (preferabbly) or whatever color elastic head band, and apply right over your head leaving hair out all around

2) take your hair from ear to ear and roll up and tuck in the elastic band

3) bobby pin if you need to secure hair in, hairspray and done!!

For products I used, Kenra Professional Volume hairspray 25 for that extra hold kenra volume spray

and Kevin Murphy Easy. Rider to help me comb the hair together controlling frizz Kevin Murphy easy rider

Can’t wait for the finished pictures. You can find it on when it’s finished!

Miracle Cream For Everyone Embryollise Lait-Creme Concentre

April 6, 2014

Soooooo I  recently found out about this cream by an amazing Makeup artist, Loli. I was intrigued why it’s labeled as a miracle cream, so I went ahead and got it. For my experience on myself, it seemed a little heavy, but then again my skin is on the combination/oily side so I am very particular with creams.  Since I thought it was a little heavy, I decided to use it as night cream.  Woke up the following day and my skin felt and looked refreshed.  Then, I also researched that it is a great primer for makeup, so I went ahead and gave it a try before my foundation. Was a little skeptical just because of fearing it would be too much for my oily skin, and my experience was I love it!!!

Who’s It for: ALL skintypes  yay!

What’s to love: 3 in 1- Primer, moisturizer, and makeup remover, quality ingredients, emollient oil and combination of natural active ingredients: Shea butter, beeswax, aloe vera and soy proteins. Also paraben-free

How do you use it: at night, before makeup, and to remove makeup

Where to get it: Embryollise Lait-Creme Concentre

Loli, makeup artist, Review: “Ohhhh dang!!! Yup you’re gonna be addicted ahhahah.. It hydrates on contact without leaving any residue! and as a fellow makeup artist you know that most moisturizers mess with the integrity of any foundation when applied before hand! But Embryollise is like a miracle cream for any texture and type of skin! It’s like chapstick for your face. Ohhh and it naturally brings the Ph levels back to normal. Boom!” -Loli,
