Lush Fresh Face Masks

September 30, 2011

I have heard so much about Lush products, all natural ingredients used for skin care.  I am such an addict for anything to make my skin soft so I finally went in to try some of their products out.

I tried their fresh face mask called Brazened Honey….AMAZING!! I can feel and see the difference right away.

Lush says: “Our Fresh Face Masks are handmade with the finest essential oils, fresh fruits and veggies, deep cleansing clays and nutrient rich herbs. We use active ingredients to address a host of skin needs, from dryness to breakouts to fine lines, and everything in between! Making and using our masks fresh means that the benefits of each ingredient are delivered directly to your skin within minutes. Your face mask should be used as a treatment, applied once or twice a week to refresh and deep cleanse the skin.”

Brazened Honey was inspired by traditional Indian ayurvedic principles, which put emphasis on balance as the foundation to health. Our deepest cleansing mask, Helen combined fresh free range eggs and honey to soften, with astringent lime oil, antiseptic rosemary and exfoliating ground almonds.

Price is $6.95 for 2.1 oz, and will last for a month!

Product: Smolder Eye Khol Liner

Brand: M.A.C.

Price: $14.50

Texture: A Creamy Texture, Easy to Blend, Deepest Black Liner

Likes: You know back in the day when you would melt your black liner with a lighter so it can have a soft texture, to glide on your eye smoothly and stay super dark, That is pretty much how smolder is without having to melt it. lol  I love to use this product for runways, You can use it on the crease and set with black shadow so the black stays really dark. Or use it all around your lid and smear out with a blending brush for a smokey eye look.

Simple Hair

September 14, 2011

This took me 5 minutes to do, my hair is super long and on hot days I dont like wearing it down, so I try to find simple, fast cute ways to do my hair. On the right side I twisted my hair towards the back, On the left side I braided a few pieces and threw the rest of my hair in a bun.

Oribe- Apres Beach new product!

September 12, 2011

Oribe- Apres Beach

My new favorite product!!!! Well I actually LOVE all of Oribes products and Apres Beach is the newest one! A beachy, texturized look with shine!….. the only thing I would recommend is avoid the roots. As for most shine products, it is best to avoid the roots, you don’t want to look like you need to wash your hair again!
“Attention island-hoppers and champagne-poppers: Get beach-to-bombshell hair — tousled, touchable waves with sun-kissed shine — without the salty stiffness. Our moisturizing glamour spray uses rich extracts and exotic oils for lush repair and sultry texture.

Shake. Spray on wet or dry hair. Tousle to taste and let dry in the St. Tropez air. Follow with lipstick and heels.”

Top 10 Hair Tips enjoy!

September 10, 2011

1. Combination scalp: To distribute the natural oils in your hair, bend over and brush your scalp and hair from back to front until the scalp tingles, then massage the scalp with your fingertips.

2.Static hair:  To cut down on static electricity, dampen your hairbrush before brushing hair

3.Flaky scalp: If you suffer from  a flaky scalp, try the following treatment every 2 weeks: section your hair and rub the scalp with a cotton pad saturated with plain rubbing alcohol. Let the alcohol dry, then brush your hair and rinse thoroughly with warm water, but don’t shampoo.

4. Fuller hair: To get a fuller look to your hair style, bend over so your hair falls forward and blow the underneath layers dry first.

5. Permed hair: to perk up permed hair between shampoos, lightly mist your hair with fresh water and push the curls into place with your fingers.

6. Dull hair: Dull, lifeless hair can be a sign of a poor diet, try cutting down on cholesterol and fats.

7. After hair color: wait at least 48 hours after coloring hair to shampoo it.  Every time you wet hair you open the cuticle, so give hair time to seal in the color, and rinse with cool water

8. Sun spray: When you’re always out in the sun, spray in  a sunscreen to protect color treated hair  from the sun’s color altering effects.

9. Product buildup: Hair sprays, mousses, gels and other styling aids tend to build up over time, despite judicious shampooing and rinsing.  If you find this happening, buy a clarifier, which removes product buildup with out stripping essential oils. Make your own by mixing one part vinegar with 20 parts water.

10. Avoid breakage: Avoid using a brush on wet hair, because it is subject to breakage. Comb out snarls

How to Shape and Shade in your Eyebrows.

September 2, 2011

I obviously do not have perfect eyebrows, do you see that before and after picture?! But I do get asked all the time what I use and how I do my eyebrows so I am going to show you all how I do it!

Eyebrows are very important! They can change the whole shape of your face.

There are a few steps but they are pretty simple steps and I know you all can do it. Once you get used to doing your brows all the time it will only take a minute to do them like this.

Face Shapes and tips on how to shape your brows:

Long Face:

A flat, horizontal brow makes the face appear more oval shaped .

Worst brow shape is thin high arched eyebrows, they will make your face look even longer.

Round Face:

A high arch, angled brow looks best, this will give your face shape a thinner appearance.

Worst shape: Round thin eyebrows, this will only make the face appear rounder.

Square Face:

Angled or curved brows with a sharp point to take attention away from the square jaw line.

Oval Face:

This is considered the perfect shape, (everyone is perfect to me!) maybe because you can have a few different shapes.

one thing to avoid is having too highly arched brows.

Heart Face:

Rounded brows look the best.

Flat straight brows arent the best for this face shape.

Diamond Face:

Angled, round or curved brows with a peak to narrow the wide cheek bones look best.

A flat brow look worst for this face shape.

Have an AMAZING DAY!
